Family Day at ELC

Sunday 29th May marks another exciting event for women’s and girls celebrating 50 years of lacrosse in Victoria. Eltham Lacrosse Club will be hosting Family day in a homage to the early beginnings of our sport where they use to have picnic days, where people would bring a picnic rug  and the whole family down to lacrosse and make a day of it.

There are lots of things planned for all age groups.

Juniors can step back in time and find out what is like to have a throw with a wooden stick, similar to the ones were originally used to play lacrosse, and take part in fastest shot competition, longest pass and may more.

So why not make a day of it bring your picnic rug and gang to spend a day stepping back in time, while seeing how the modern game is played.

For more details about 50 years family day see below

Eltham Games times are as follows

10am Under 15  Eltham V Williamstown Women
11am Under 13 Eltham V Altona/Chadstone
12:15 Under 17 ELtham V Williamstown Women
2:15pm Seniors Eltham V Footscray

WE NEED YOU

To enable a smooth running for the day, we need lots of volunteers.

Could all junior girls and parents please be down at the club rooms at 8:30am to help with ground set up for the day.

All Senior women to remain after all games are finished for ground pack up.

Canteen

We are also looking for people to help out in the canteen, so you can either email eltham.lax.womans@gmail.com or just pop your head into the kitchen on the day we are always looking for extra help (even if you can only do an hour or so, your time would be greatly appreciated).

Family Day

As Family Day fast approaches our momentum is ever growing in celebrating the 50th Successive Season of Women’s Lacrosse in Victoria.
Family Day is about fun for everyone and we have designed some activities for the day where you can have a go at trying something new.
The following activities will be set-up;

  • Longest throw
  • Accuracy
  • Fastest throw

Points will be earned at each activity and certificates will be awarded in each age group.

We have allocated specific times to each age group (U11, U13, U15) so  everyone will have as much opportunity as possible to have a go at all activities and this includes using a wooden stick!  Please refer to the attached pre-registration form for more details.  The activities will remain set-up during the day so anyone who wants to see how far or fast they can throw can pop over.
And don’t go home too early or you’ll miss the Parents V Kids game!  We have set aside space at 12pm for a quick game of fun and hopefully not too many spills!  Each child must be accompanied by an adult and we’ll make sure everyone gets a run on the field and a chance to score a goal!

50th Successive Season of Women’s Lacrosse in Victoria

Family Day will be held amongst the trees at Eltham Lacrosse Club on Sunday 29th May 2011. The day is set to focus on fun for all the family and after so much frivolity at the Luncheon we would love to have your presence at our next celebration of this year’s milestone.

Please refer to attached flyer for more information, with more details to follow in the coming weeks.

We have also designed a Commemorative T-Shirt for this year and have attached a flyer and order form for this memorabilia – get in fast before they get snapped up!
