Eltham Lacrosse Club 33rd annual schools competition – FINAL week 2013

Thank you to everyone for your participation in the Eltham Lacrosse Club 33rd annual schools competition.

The final round was very close, with some nail biting games being played.  All the schools were well represented and the teams showed real advancement in their skills – well done to everyone!

Congratulations to Eltham PS who took the trophy out this year and to Eltham East  who were runners up.  Montmorency South came in third and a small tightnit Sherbourne team can be very proud of their 4th place.

It was also great to see Eltham North primary who are quite new to the competition demonstrating excellent skills development over the competition.  Well done also to the young Eltham East purple team for getting a win on the board this week.

The lacrosse season commences in term 2 and new players are always welcome, so please come along if you would like to play more lacrosse.  We have mixed teams in under 10′s and under 12′s and under 13 girls.

Schools Competition – week 2

Another great week of schools competition saw some very competitive play by all teams.  The progression of skills and tactics is evident in some high scoring games this week.  The ladder at the end of week 2 has Montmorency South Green in first position, followed strongly by Eltham Primary School and Eltham East Gold.  The great news is we’re extending the competition through to 20th March to make up for last weeks wash out, so there’s still plenty of time to get wins on the board for all teams.

Families are requested to bring a plate: chips, dips, biscuits, sweets, savouries, fruit, etc.  These will be shared amongst tables for during the program, at the break and supper.

U15 Northern Warriors Boy’s Representative Team

Applications are now being called for players to trial for the U15 Northern Warriors Boy’s Representative Team which will compete in the U15 National Tournament in Melbourne from 1st to 7 October 2012.

It would be appreciated if clubs could forward this to all their players in the eligible age group Registered players from the following clubs are eligible to trial with this team, Bendigo, Eltham, M.H.S., Moreland and Surrey Park. Players must be Under 15, but at least 12 years old on 1 January 2012.

All players intending to trial must submit the appropriate trial application form to Lacrosse Victoria together with payment of the $50 trial fee. Players who do not submit the trial application form or pay the $50 trial fee before the closing date for applications will not be eligible to trial. Applications will close on Friday 27th July

Trials will be held on the following dates with venues to be confirmed

•Sunday 29th July,  Eltham

•Sunday  5th August,   TBA

•Sunday 12th August,  TBA

•Sunday 19th August, TBA

Start time 0930hrs for 1000hrs start.

School Clinic Coaches 2012

The club is seeking people to run clinics in primary schools during early term 4 2012.  Clinics will be held at local primary schools, forming a major component of our recruitment program. Clinic coaches will be required to do the online Beginning Coaching General Principles course and attend a short induction program. Interested?
